Ryan Gallagher, a favourite on this year’s Married at First Sight, was apparently tapped to become the Bachelor next year – but is unfortunately still under contract with Channel Nine.

The Daily Mail uncovered a video from Gallagher’s MAFS co-groom Dean Wells, where he claimed that Gallagher had “got the call-up” from Warner Brothers, the producers of Bachie.
Gallagher did confirm to the Mail that he was approached by Warner Brothers but wouldn’t say what the ring-a-ding was about. It does seem likely that he’s still under contract with Nine and thus can’t take any offer… yet.

In Wells’ video he tried to explain that Gallagher had met someone overseas, believed to be Ayla Browne, who was planning on moving from New Zealand to Australia to be with him, until “Ryan got the call-up from Warner Brothers to be the next Bachelor, so what did he do, he dumps her straight away. [He] calls her and says ‘Sorry, I’m going off to be more famous, I’m gonna be the Bachelor, so we’re not a thing anymore.’”
Wells claims that she had already made the move to Sydney and was left stranded by Gallagher.
“Then Channel Nine blocked him from being the Bachelor, so he couldn’t be the Bachelor anyway, so it was all a big waste of time.”
The video descends into Wells trying to articulate their feud, which seems at this point to centre around Gallagher’s ex from overseas turning up to Wells’ birthday. They originally beefed on MAFS, because Wells ended up hooking up with Gallagher’s bride, Davina Rankin. Dw, Wells goes into that in depth too.

Gallagher meanwhile posted an Insta Story earlier this week explaining that he blocked Wells, another MAFS bloke, Telv Williams, and Love Island‘s Eden Dally from social media because “the day I found out my mum had cancer these two were posting on there social media dancing with my ex girlfriend at the candy man mansion party and I didn’t have the energy to worry about that in my life so I blocked them“.

Earlier this month, it was rumoured that The Loop co-host Scott Tweedie could be in the running to hold the power of the rose, even as fans demand the role go to Dr. Chris Brown.
A source told the Daily Tele:
“When [Channel Ten] found out that Scott was single, they were straight to him with an offer to be the next Bachelor. Scott is already comfortable in front of the camera, he is very different to the recent guys who have been on the show.”
