Holy Shit, Armie Hammer Finally Made A Statement About Those Graphic DM Screenshots & Wow

Armie Hammer has finally, finally made a statement acknowledging the graphic screenshots circulating for more than a week, just as he decided to ‘step away’ from an upcoming film with Jennifer Lopez.

In a statement released to Variety, Hammer said he was, er, not responding to the “vicious and spurious claims”, but simply needed to spend more time with his family in light of them.

“I’m not responding to these bullshit claims but in light of the vicious and spurious online attacks against me, I cannot in good conscience now leave my children for 4 months to shoot a film in the Dominican Republic,” he said.

“Lionsgate is supporting me in this and I’m grateful to them for that.”

The screenshots have been floating on social media for at least a week, claiming to show years of Armie Hammer engaging in affairs with multiple women and expressing desires around rape and cannibalism.

Just yesterday, a new screenshot was shared in which he allegedly asked a woman if he could “cut off one of your toes and keep it with me in my pocket so I always had a piece of you in my possession”.

In another, he allegedly told the woman: “Text me about me breaking your bones while raping you … and I’ll send you the voice note while I cum reading it.”

PEDESTRIAN.TV is not implying Armie Hammer is guilty of rape or cannibalism.

The news Armie was stepping away from the film – an action-comedy from Lionsgate called Shotgun Wedding – came just this morning. Until that announcement, Armie had made zero comment on the screenshots (or, in fact, any comment at all).

“Given the imminent start date of Shotgun Wedding, Armie has requested to step away from the film and we support him in his decision,” a spokesperson for Lionsgate said.

If you’re to believe the anonymous claims sent in to gossip Instagram account Deuxmoi, studio executives have been wondering how to replace Armie since his name began trending for all the wrong reasons.

Armie Hammer’s other upcoming projects include the Call Me By Your Name sequel Find Me with Timothée Chalamet, which will be pretty hard to recast.

According to his IMDb page, Armie is also set to start in a TV mini series The Offer and a film called The Billion Dollar Spy, both of which are in pre-production.

Hmmmm. Okay.
