Here’s Miguel Doing A Smooth-As-Silk Take On RHCP For ‘Like A Version’

I tell you what, Miguel has come out of the mist to lay down one of the absolute, all-time smoothest and most soulful takes ye olde Like a Version has ever seen.

The Los Angeles born-and-bred artist recently wrapped up his Splendour in the Grass-related commitments in the country and jetted on home to continue his Ascension world tour. But not before he go neck deep in the fancy big room at Triple J to lay down a tune for the ages.

Taking on the Red Hot Chilli Peppers‘ jam Porcelain – a cut from the mammoth album Californication – Miguel somehow does a thing that very few artists who take on Like a Version do: He makes it seem like, unbelievably, the tune was originally written for him.

We cannot stress this enough: He is very good, and the tune is chill as hell. Wrap your ears around it immediately.

Now that’s a bloody jam right there. What a voice.

And because one Miguel track is simply not enough, Triple J also uploaded this clip of him performing a rendition of his own tune Pineapple Skies. Everything’s gonna be alright now, mates. Everything’s gonna be alright.

Yep. Old mate needs to come back out here for a full national tour tout bloody suite, I tell you.
