Every year brings with it a handful of fresh celebrity trends that we can’t wait to try. From fre$h evening dresses to brand-spankin’ new hair colour ideas, there’s never a dull day in the celebrity style world.
Then there are those A-lister trends that just make you ‘wait, what??’.
The latest fashion garment of choice, my friends, definitely falls into the latter category.

In the last week, both Kourtney Kardashian and Blac Chyna have taken to Instagram to declare their love for half-jackets.
And yep, it looks every bit as weird and unsettling as it sounds.
Here’s Kourt reppin’ a pantsuit that looks like it wastaken off the factory line before the critical last panel was attached:
Kourt captioned the post “Bond, James Bond”, before posing in a very impressive spy-worthy car.
Aaaaaand then here’s her bro Rob Kardashian’s ex wearing a slightly more drastic take on the trend:

Now, I don’t know about you, but this asymmetrical outfit just reminds me of those costumes where people dress-up as the bride AND groom, you know the ones?

While Kourt’s outfit, which swaps out the shoulder for a matching satin bustier, is much more subtle, Chyna’s look is just, well, too hectic for me.
I mean, it takes a while for your eyes to actually process what’s going on.
And sure, adventurous celebrity outfits are definitely better than just playing it safe all the time, but the thing with ‘adventurous’ style is that it doesn’t always stick.
I have to admit, though, when you look past the outfits, both Kourt and Blac have some super fly hair and makeup lewks going on, so props where props are due.
