Steph Curry Returns From Injury, Casually Smacks Another NBA Record

Well goddamned, he’s back.

Steph Curry returned from a light MCL strain injury to rejoin the Golden State Warriors‘ quest for back-to-back NBA Championships, and immediately reminded everyone exactly why he’s practically cruising to his second consecutive NBA MVP award.
In game 4 of their Western Conference second round matchup, the Warriors travelled to Portland to clash with a plucky Trail Blazers outfit punching well above their own weight throughout this offseason.
At first Curry started slow, struggling to shake off the rust after a solid stint on the sidelines, missing his first nine shots. It wasn’t until the fourth quarter that Curry found his touch – and boy, did he ever find it.
Tying the game at the end of regulation at 110 apiece, Curry put on an absolute clinic to blow away the Blazers in overtime, helping the Warriors to a 132-125 win.
How huge was Curry in OT? He dropped 17 points. By himself.
The most anyone has ever scored individually in an NBA Playoff overtime period.
Some of the shots he was draining were flat-out ridiculous.

Hell, even Blazers owner Paul Allen could scarcely believe what he was seeing.

Curry’s 17 in OT helped to a game-high 40 points, coupled with nine rebounds and eight assists.
For the Blazers, it was gun Damien Lillard who lead the way with 36 points and 10 assists. But even he could only sit back in awe at the clinic Steph put on.
The Warriors move to a 3-1 advantage in the series and will look to close it out, and move on to the Eastern Conference Finals, in Game 5 this coming Friday (Australian time).
