These past few days I have really started to feel for Meghan Markle. Sure, she’s beautiful, talented and is marrying Prince Harry, which are all things I am supremely jealous of. But her family have hit new levels of batshit this week, and I can imagine poor Megs is just bloody mortified about the whole thing.
Anyone who has been married knows that weddings are stressful enough without your problematic family dropping by to fuck things up. It’s happened to many of us, but not on a global scale like Meghan.
First up this week, there was her dad Thomas Markle‘s staged paparazzi shot scandal and subsequent heart attack scare, with the most recent update being that he won’t attend the May 19 wedding after undergoing surgery.
Then it transpired that her half-sister, Samantha Grant, was actually the one who encouraged her dad to take the pics in the first place. ICYMI, Samantha has been making a pest of herself ever since Meghan, 36, first hooked up with Harry, constantly dragging her younger half-sister in interviews and even penning a yet-to-be-published book entitled The Diary of Princess Pushy’s Sister.
Despite not receiving an invite to the wedding, Samantha was prepping to visit the UK to appear on Royal Wedding related telecasts. But in good news for Meghan but not so good for Samantha, TMZ is reporting that she has been felled by a broken ankle in her home state of Florida.
The 53-year-old was apparently involved in a car accident with the paps, with her boyfriend Mark telling TMZ that a photographer veered in front of their car and he was forced to swerve to avoid them, hitting a concrete barrier.
According to the outlet, Samantha hit the windshield and fell onto the car’s floor mat, with Mark adding her foot was twisted backwards in the accident. With Samantha suffering from multiple sclerosis, she was reportedly unable to lift herself up. TMZ says she’s currently in the ER being treated for a suspected broken ankle and fractured leg.
With the wedding just 3 days away, it looks pretty unlikely that Samantha will make it over to Old Blighty to add her two cents about her sister’s wedding. I don’t want to say anything about karma, but oopsy daisy, looks like I just did.
