Orlando Bloom appears to have found a new money spinning venture – getting his partner Katy Perry to drop nearly AU $70,000 every single time they go on a date.
Okay, look, there’s some extra context here, but let’s not take away from the fact the Witness singer legitimately offered to drop US $50,000 to ride on a motorcycle and grab a bite with the Pirates Of The Caribbean star.

Perry attended Sunday’s One Love Malibu festival, a massive charity event aimed at raising funds for those affected by last month’s devastating Woolsey fires.
Along with musical performances by Gwen Stefani, Alanis Morisette, Rita Ora, and Perry herself, the benefit boasted a jumbo auction offering all manner of luxe goodies. One of them: a full-on date with Bloom.
Perry took to the stage to auction off the experience, billing it as a bike-riding, pec-grabbing, extravaganza. The problem was she didn’t exactly seem too enthused to auction off the date.
“When you are on the motorcycle with him you’re holding him in a way that I am not excited about,” Perry said.
Eventually an audience member called Laura stumped up a boggling US $20,000 for the opportunity. Perry more than doubled her offer.
“Laura, I’m sorry, I’m buying it for fifty thousand,” she said.

The over-the-top offer was for a good cause, mind you. Perry effectively donated 0.06% of her estimated US $83m net earnings for the year of 2018, with those funds going towards the Malibu Foundation.
The foundation is in the process of handing out grants to families directly impacted by the fires, which razed the homes of stars including Miley Cyrus, Liam Hemsworth, and Gerard Butler.
So far, the organisation has received nearly US $900,000 in donations in the past month. Just a few more dates with Legolas could tip that number into seven figures.
