Bloody hell, Parliament House is a weird, weird, weird place to be today.

And despite all the hullaballoo over Senatorial procedure and missing petitions and the like, the weirdest thing that’s happened today isn’t even occurring inside the actual Parliament chambers.
With next weekend being Easter, pollies are starting to get into the swing of things by buddying up to Parliament House’s resident media contingent.
And, of course, first cab off the rank is the hyper-conservative, very Christian, very stoked on Jesus Day Cory Bernardi, who has been spending the morning bringing a basket of Cadbury Easter Eggs around the Parliament press gallery.

Fine, that’s a decent gesture – you’ve gotta be an actual human being outside your work persona, after all.

Here’s the thing, though. Those Cadbury eggs? The company’s website has them listed thusly.
They’re halal. Very, very halal.
