OH M8: It Looks Like A ‘MAFS’ Contestant Has Been Running His Own Fan Account

There’s a WILD rumour going ’round that a Married At First Sight (MAFS) contestant set-up his own Instagram fan account that has since been deleted but never you mind ‘coz we got the receipts so put the bloody kettle on RN.

The contestant in question is Mike Gunner whose fan page @team_mike_mafs was marked as suspicious by MAFS Insta account @mafsfunny.

When it was still up and running, its bio stated that it’s run by mates and relos of the Queensland-based electrician:

We are friends & family of Mike. There’s a lot of love & respect for this man @Mikekangaroo #teamMikemafs #teammike. Tag your pics to be showcased.

Mike was the first person to follow the account shortly after it was created, which is pretty damn shady, plus he was personally responding to all the comments and the captions were a little too specific to be from someone who wasn’t him.

For example, one post contains the following incredibly detailed and self-promo-y caption:
“Mike doing what he does best! He has a big heart. When he travels he likes to get amongst the locals and give back to the community. He plays soccer with the kids and brings food for the village (and their dogs!). #teamMike #teammikeMAFS #mikekangaroo.”

After Now To Love published a report about the account, the page was suddenly shut down.

KIIS FM later probed Gunner to see if he was the man behind the curtain, so to speak.

“There is a fan page that’s been set-up. Now to Love website have picked up on a few tell-tale details that they believe Mike is the one responsible for setting up the fan page, not his friends,” Jackie O said.

“The evidence against you is not looking great from where you’re standing with following the page first bro, replying to people,” Beau Ryan asked.

Jackie then asked him, “Are you responsible for setting up that page?”

“It’s pandemonium!” He responded. “No, it’s not my page. It’s a friend of mine who was offended by the trolling and thought she’d throw a bit of support my way. Who was I to discourage a bit of support?”

“I had nothing to do with it. Suddenly I was sent a link and I felt compelled to follow it to see what people said.”

He adds that it was his idea to have the account deactivated and sure Jan.

“I asked her to shut it down. It didn’t feel right in the end and she was getting a lot of flak so I told her to pull the pin.”

But there are holes in the dude’s story as he refers to a lone female friend who runs the page but its initial bio read: “We are friends & family of Mike.”

Hmmmmm…
