Rosamund Pike Speaks Out About Her Breasts Being Enlarged On A Poster Without Her Consent

Rosamund Pike has opened up about the numerous times her appearance has been digitally altered in all sorts of ways for film posters without her consent, including one time when her breasts were enlarged on a poster. This is probably still common in the industry, which sucks.

During a virtual appearance on The Kelly Clarkson Show, Pike spoke out against being digitally altered without her permission.

She told Clarkson that she hadn’t even been familiar with apps like Facetune until a fellow passenger on a plane made a gross comment about her appearance.

“I was on a flight with this guy, and I took a selfie, and he looked over my shoulder – someone I didn’t know – and he said, ‘Oh, no no, babe, you’ve gotta Facetune that.’ And I said, ‘Sorry what?’”

GROSS.

“That was my introduction to the world of Facetuning, which I then realised has often happened – well, body-tuning, ” Pike said.

She explained that in the poster for Johnny English Reborn (2011), co-starring Rowan Atkinson, her breasts were “augmented”.

“[In the movie poster] I’ve got a very impressive chest, which I don’t have. And for Radioactive strangely, they made my eyes brown, and I still don’t know why.”

Pike starred as Marie Curie in Radioactive, a 2019 film about the French physicist.

Upon reflection, Pike wondered just how many times her appearance has been digitally altered for posters.

“Those [the posters] are the obvious times right, when you do notice. You’re like, oh I’ve got brown eyes, or I’ve got massive breasts, but there are probably countless times where our image is doctored and we don’t notice it, because we’re all losing our grip on what we look like.”

Grim.

Pike appeared on the show to promote her latest film, I Care A Lot, a thriller that brings back her iconic Gone Girl bob.

In I Care A Lot, Marla Grayson (Pike) is a professional, court-appointed guardian for dozens of elderly wards whose assets she seizes and bilks through dubious but legal means.

Together with her business-partner and lover Fran (Eiza González), they set their sights on their latest “cherry”, Jennifer Peterson (Dianne Wiest) – a wealthy retiree with no living heirs or family. But when their target turns out to have an equally shady secret of her own and connections to a gangster (Peter Dinklage) Marla is forced to get… creative.

I Care A Lot is streaming now on Amazon Prime Video Australia.
