Yr Fave Cynical Heroine ‘Daria’ Is Copping A Reboot For This Sick Sad World

Feels like we’re waking up every morning to news that an old school fave has been rebooted, dunnit?

And while some reboots have been, well, nothing short of disastrous (*coughs* GILMORE GIRLS *coughs*), there are some shows that deserve to be revisited in 2018 and classic ’90s cartoon Daria is definitely one of them!

MTV‘s freshly launched programming station MTV Studios has announced plans to reboot the cult classic 1990s feminist series for today’s sick, sad world.

Deadline reports that the revisited series will be called Daria & Jodie and “will focus on Daria Morgendorffer and her closest pal Jodie Landon“.

Please, a moment of silence for all the Jane Lane fans…

The show will bring us the same old sass and spunk of the original, featuring the girls’ take on the world with “their signature satirical voice while deconstructing popular culture, social classes, gender and race.”

In addition to this TV great, MTV has announced plans to reboot a bunch o’ classic shows like a live-action remake of cult anime classic Aeon Flux, old school reality series The Real WorldEmmy-winning life makeover series MADE, The Valley (in the vein of The Hills and The City), and brand new one (shock horror!) called MTV’s Straight Up Ghosted that “explores real stories of real people who vanished by blocking them.” Sounds juicy!

There’s currently no word on when we can expect Daria & Jodie to grace our screens but in the meantime, get schooled on sarcasm via the entire back catalogue of Daria on Stan.
