One of Married At First Sight‘s (MAFS) three ‘relationship experts’ Mel Schilling was initially praised for striking Bronson Norrish down over calling his bride Ines Basic a C U Next Tuesday, but the exaltation hasn’t lasted as fans are now furious that she put the groom in his place but hasn’t done anything to penalise his bride’s foul behaviour.

People are so pissed off, in fact, that a Change.org petition has popped up overnight, demanding that she is either fired from the program or issues a public apology.
At the time of reporting, the petition had clocked in a whopping 28,000+ signatures out of its desire 35,000 in 24 hours and it’s quickly rising.
The petition reads:
Married at first sight so called expert “Mel Schilling” lashes out at Bronson for using foul language . This so called psychologist is a biased feminist who has made it clear that she thinks it’s okay for a woman to behave the way Ines does. Bronson has been a victim of her verbal and emotional abuse all week, and the second he decides its enough “expert” Mel comes in and says he shouldn’t be using that language. The thing is, Ines is exactly what he said, a nasty, abusive piece of work.
Mel needs to make a formal apology or be sacked from the show. The show doesn’t need one sided feminists as an “expert”.
MAFS’ executive producer John Walsh issued a statement via Daily Mail Australia where he and the show supported Schilling.
“There were 12 women in the room that night and a man used language that was highly insulting and inflammatory in reference to his wife,” he said.
“Mel acted in the only way appropriate by calling out the language – language that is not ever considered acceptable anywhere, anytime.”
He adds that he and his colleagues are “shocked at the backlash Mel has received for defending another woman.”
Following the backlash, Mel blocked comments on her social media accounts to avoid nasty remarks from fans.
