Sex and the City star Chris Noth, a.k.a. Mr. Big, has weighed in on the almighty feud between his longtime co-stars, Sarah Jessica Parker (Carrie) and Kim Cattrall (Samantha).

Speaking to The Guardian in the lead-up to And Just Like That, Noth was asked why Cattrall refused to take part in the revival.

“I have to tell you, I have absolutely no idea what her thinking is, or her emotions,” he said. “I do know that I’m very close with SJ and [Cattrall’s] descriptions of her don’t even come close.”

He added that he “liked [Cattrall], I thought she was marvellous in the show and some people move on for their own reasons. I don’t know what hers were. I just wish that whole thing had never happened because it was sad and uncomfortable.”

Noth explained that he doesn’t like to “see anyone talking down about SJ because she’s a target and people can be nasty.”

He continued, adding, “I feel very protective of her and I was not happy about that. That’s all I’ll say about that.”

Kim Cattrall has been very vocal about her disdain towards SJP and her general apathy towards the revival.

In a recent Instagram post, fans detected a hint of shade as the actress appeared holding a dawg and captioned the post: “When your co-star is a real dog.”

It very well could be a reach, but Kim Cattrall has been mud-slinging at Sarah Jessica Parker in the press and on social media for years now. She bloody well wants people to know that the IRL Carrie and Samantha are not soul mates. Far from it.

There have been several interviews that have subsequently gone viral where Kim dragged her former co-star. In one, she said that she and SJP “were never friends… we were colleagues.”

And in another, she said she never wants to reprise her role in Sex and the City again because “I don’t want to be in a situation for even an hour where I’m not enjoying myself.”

So I guess this is why Chris Noth felt the need to step in and defend SJP!
