The Bachelorette For 2021 Has Apparently Been Leaked & Let’s Just Say It’s Very Disappointing

The Bachelorette for 2021 has apparently been leaked and it’s another recycled ex-Bach contestant, Renee Barrett *sighs*.

Speaking on the So Dramatic! Podcast (because where else would we get this kind of tea from) host Megan Pustetto revealed that she had it on good authority that Renee is our 2021 Bachelorette.

“Renee is moving to Melbourne next year with her bff Sam Royce. And when I inquired more into this, I discovered that this was because she was in the final stages to be our Bachelorette,” Megan said on her podcast.

Don’t get me wrong, she’s a fine lass and I love her energy. However, Channel 10 should’ve learnt by now that taking someone from a previous season (who didn’t even come runner-up or make it into the Top 3) is a recipe for disaster.

The Bachelorette this year with Elly and Becky Miles had some of the lowest ratings EVER. That’s because no one knew who the fuck they were. Or if they did, they were bored because they wanted someone new.

Please stop recycling people and just give us a fresh face already.

If you’re wondering where Megan got this information, it’s from Renee’s friends themselves.

“One friend of Renee’s gave a very vague, but very telling response when I reached out saying: ‘Renee has lots on next year, so that’s why she is moving to Melbourne,’” Megan said.

“Another said: She has so much going on next year with her job, and there’s going to be so much more happening for her in the new year. So who knows?’

“A third friend said: ‘yes she is in talks to be the Bachelorette, she’s in the final stages of contract negotiations. It’s all very exciting.’”

The same friend said the reason Renee was chosen, was because she was so unlucky in love on Paradise this year.

“They wanted to give her the happy ending she didn’t get after the whole Ciarran saga. She was such a loved character on Paradise, and audiences are really gunning for her to find a nice guy. And she would make the best first Indigenous Bachelorette. ”

It’s great that Channel 10 are taking a step in the right direction with more diversity in their casting. But I think it was a missed opportunity to cast a minority that Australia hadn’t met before. This feels like a bit of a cop out, because they know it’s safe and therefore won’t attract too much backlash for it.

Hmm not sure how I feel about this choice TBH.
