Cult Melb Bakery Lune Is Doing A Limited Edition Banh Mi Croissant For All You Brekky Binches

Lune Croissanterie Bahn Mi

Listen up you brekky-loving binches, pastry elite Lune Croissanterie is introducing a fusion Banh Mi so you no longer have to indecisively choose between a crispy, ~healthy~ veggie roll or an indulgent croissant – because you get to have the best of both worlds. Now *this* is innovation.

Great news for the local carb-obsessed heathens, Lune Croissanterie has turned its signature croissant dough into a baguette-version, for a new take on the classic Banh Mi roll. In between that flaky, buttery bliss the world is obsessed with, you’ll find delectable fillings of rare roast beef, mushroom parfait, nuoc mam gel, pickled carrot and daikon, and fresh cucumber, spring onion and coriander.

The new fusion-Bahn Mi is the sexy creation of Masterchef contestant and fave Tommy Pham, who created them as part of a challenge by Kate Reid, the mastermind behind Lune.

Tommy Pham blew the judges away with his Banh Mi, and the prize was getting to show off his creation on the menu at Lune Lab, a monthly testing of ~experimental~ little creations.

Pham did such a great job on Masterchef with his pastry though, that his fusion Banh Mis aren’t just going to be available on the Lune Lab menu – they’re now available over the counter at Lune Croissanterie, too.

“We know we said it would be a Lune Lab dish, but the flavours were too good to limit it to the Lab, so we’ve reimagined Tommy’s pastry to be available over the counter in both Fitzroy and the CBD,” Lune Croissanterie said on Instagram.

Just *look* at it at that piece of art. I’ve been vegetarian for years and even I’m tempted to sneak a little taste.

The Banh Mi is only going to be available for a few weeks though, so get ’em while you can friends – this can’t be missed!
