‘Battle Of The Bastards’ Is Now The Highest Rated TV Episode Of All Time

Fair to say that a whole bloody lot of you quite enjoyed this week’s instalment of Game of Thrones: the joyously titled ‘Battle of the Bastards.’

In fact, the episode struck such a chord with viewers that it compelled a buttload of them to rush over to IMDb to drop a hot rating on that sumbitch. And despite the fact that it only aired a mere matter of days ago, Battle of the Bastards is now the highest rated episode of TV ever as a result.
Internet sleuths on Reddit cottoned on to the fact that Bastards quickly accumulated a perfect 10 rating for itself based on IMDb’s rating algorithms. In fact, so many people dropped 10s on it like it was hot, that it has now successfully overtaking the previous champion in Breaking Bad episode ‘Ozymandias.’
The previous high water mark was set by the hugely beloved AMC show after it aired on September 15th, 2013. The episode which aired late in the show’s final season attracted ridiculous numbers of 10s in the handful of years since airing, chalking up, to date, 71,010 perfect tens from a total of 75,818 votes.
In contrast, Bastards has completely blown by that number inside three days, racking up a staggering 77,325 10s off of 82,863 total voters.
‘Course the two episodes are hardly comparable, with Ozymandias featuring a plot-heavy episode where things truly begin unravelling for Walter White, whilst Bastards featured one of the all-time great action sequences ever committed to TV.
But still, if you’re looking purely at the weight of numbers, in the Game of Thrones vs Breaking Bad debate, Thrones wins. Fatality.
