Airbnb Set To Supersize Your Next Vacay W/ Incred Adventures Curated By Hosts

PEDESTRIAN.TV has partnered with Airbnb to let you know about their epic announcement. Keep reading to find out more.

Airbnb has always been a super great way to easily book travel accommodation, but once you got to your fresh new pad, your itinerary was up to you. The sheer scope of the stuff you can do in a city – go see that museum, make sure you eat this food, this bar is great – can be overwhelming. Now Airbnb’s gonna take care of that for you too.
Today they’ve announced the launch of Trips: a platform which connects travellers with what Airbnb calls ‘experiences’, which are basically handcrafted activities led by local experts – everything from a one day experience to something a little bit longer.
Rather than just booking a beach pad in Malibu, for example, you could immerse yourself in a multi-day classic car experience hosted by a local expert. Or learn how to build a violin in Paris, if that’s your jam.
“Until now, Airbnb has been about homes,” said Brian Chesky, Airbnb CEO. “Today, Airbnb is launching Trips, bringing together where you stay, what you do, and the people you meet all in one place. We want to make travel magical again by putting people back at the heart of every trip.”

A number of Experiences are built to allow guests to give something back to the community through non-profit organisations, too. In Detroit, for example, you can go behind the scenes at Khali Sweeney‘s Downtown Boxing Gym, which gives local kids after-school boxing lessons, snacks and homework time. Pretty cool.
Not interested that kind of full, immersive guided experience? Trips also includes Insider Guidebooks, which uses tips from “cultural experts and neighbourhood insiders” to point out the places you should be keeping an eye on locally – like great hidden restaurants and bars.
Trips launches with around 500 experiences in 12 cities – Los Angeles, San Francisco, Miami, Detroit, Havana, London, Paris, Florence, Nairobi, Cape Town, Tokyo and Seoul. A further 39 cities are already on the map for a lil later on. Sydney and Queenstown will be the first Aussie cities included.
PEDESTRIAN.TV will be doing a little something-something with Airbnb soon – stay tuned.
