God bless u, Airbnb. The home-share accommodation site’s changed the travelling game, meaning we can skip the generic hotel room and instead cop an overnighter in someone’s extra cool pad in an even cooler neighbourhood.
But by far the best thing Airbnb’s brought to our travelling experiences is the weird and wonderful types of accom you can score. Think treehouses, campervans smack-bang on the edge of the ocean, converted barns… sky’s the limit.
Unfortunately in the past you either had to be lucky enough to be in-the-know re: these types of properties, or a real deep lurker on the Airbnb site.
Thankfully this year, the peeps behind the brand have added search features which mean you can condense their properties down to the niche types you’re after.
Yep, you can literally click “yurt” or “treehouse” and have all the ones in your search area pop up. OUTSTANDING. Just hit “More Filters” once you’ve done a search and you’ll spot the new ops.
To celebrate, we’ve done a wrap of some of the coolest properties ’round Oz. Your next weekender? Extremely Instagrammable.
