I tell you what, sports fans. I have played the Spyro the Dragon remake, and had an entirely decent time with it. I’ve bashed my way through the re-released Crash Bandicoot trilogy, and had my life bent in twain by its outrageous difficulty. But despite all those hours of gameplay, all I’ve ever really wanted – in this life of sin, or any other – is an honest-to-goodness, whole-hearted, no bullshit remake of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 and Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 2. I want it. I want it bad. And thankfully, if a wild new rumour is to be believed, that long wait might soon be over.
The scuttlebutt coming out of various gaming circles is that Activision is planning *something* Tony Hawk-related, with the strongest whisper suggesting that they’re moving forward with a ground-up HD remake of both Tony Hawk 1 & 2.
The rumour comes from known rumour confirmer Sabi, who reported on Twitter that Activision has been tossing around a demo or prototype for some sort of Tony Hawk game.
Sabi asserted that Activision is seemingly preparing to do something with the franchise, and that something could well be a remake of their classic skateboarding titles.
I shared this info with just a few people, such as @GenosPapa. Interestingly, Liam Robertson just mentioned this info in his podcast, seemingly corroborating the info. Nobody seems to know if both games are being fully remade, or if it's just a test for something else.

It’s interesting to note that several sources – including current pro skateboarder Lizzie Armanto – have claimed that there is a new Tony Hawk game on the way. But it seems unlikely it’d be an Activision project, given Hawk himself parted ways with his longtime game development company after the utter disaster that was Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5.
That, combined with the literal mountains of cash Activision made by releasing group-up remakes of both the Spyro and Crash trilogies, leads us to believe that whatever Activision is working on Tony Hawk-wise, it is steeped in nostalgia, rather than adding anything new.
Of course that’s mere speculation at this stage and nothing is confirmed on Activision – or even Tony Hawk’s – end.
Hopefully whatever comes of this goes far beyond the Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater HD attempt at a Frankenstein remake that came out in 2012.
Just give me School II in 4K with Powerman 5000 blasting in the background already.
Hell, give me a collection disc with ground-up, faithful remakes of Tony Hawk 1, 2, 4, and Underground 1 please and thank you.
Not 3. Never 3.
