Tony Abbott Is Getting A Pokémon-Style RPG & The Tutorial Guide Is An Onion

Despite all the outrageous, couldn’t-make-it-up-if-you-tried nonsense that goes down in Canberra on the reg, it feels entirely likely that we’re not going to get the obvious end result of a an absolutely gripping soap opera based in the wonderful world of Auspol.

But we’re about to get the next best thing, apparently: A wildly elaborate, thoroughly piss-taking, actually-looks-completely-rad RPG.
Our precious ex-PM Tony Abbott is the subject of a new game being put together by Australian indie developers who want you to take control of Big Tone as he makes his inglorious ascent back up the ladder of Australian politics.
Tony Abbott & the Quest for the Suppository of Wisdom‘ is set to be an episodic RPG, with the first episode reportedly dropping at some point this month on Windows, Mac OS, iOS, and Android.
The developer, who has a YouTube account attributed to one Ed Smith, uploaded the first five minutes of gameplay from the series earlier today. And if making a balding 16-bit Abbott sprite swear at a Buzzfeed journo after taking wisdom from the great Tutorial Onion is your idea of a good time, then this is gonna be right up your alley.

Right? It’s like Final Fantasy IV busted out of Japan and tried to take over the Liberal Party.
The game also has this nifty little trailer attached to it, which shows just how much depth the game potentially sports:

Fair Dinkum True Blue Tradie sticks with the current mob for a while!” I die. I am dead. That is *wonderful*.
The first episode of the game is set to be released (for free!) at some point before the end of the month.
Until that happens you can track updates via the game’s Facebook page.
And remember! No one man can be the suppository of all wisdom. But one intrepid gamer might be able to.
