Emma Watson will be taking legal action after private photos of her were allegedly stolen and posted online, according to her publicist. The photos are allegedly from a clothes fitting several years ago.
“Photos from a clothes fitting Emma had with a stylist a couple of years ago have been stolen,” her publicist said in a statement. “They are not nude photographs. Lawyers have been instructed and we are not commenting further.”
Some outlets are reporting that the photographs are being passed around by filesharers on the dark web.
Watson has previously spoken out about nude leaks – such as the one involving Jennifer Lawrence for which Edward Majerczyk was handed a nine-month sentence:
Even worse than seeing women’s privacy violated on social media is reading the accompanying comments that show such a lack of empathy.

Watson was threatened with a nude photo leak after her comments to the UN about gender equality. At the time, Watson said no such photos existed, so she was unconcerned. “I knew it was a hoax, I knew the pictures didn’t exist,” Watson said. “The minute I stepped up and talked about women’s rights I was immediately threatened, within less than 12 hours I was receiving threats.”
Neither Watson nor her publicist have offered any further comment at this time.
