A clearly pissed-off representative for Emma Watson has stepped in to do damage control, insisting that the Harry Potter star is not quitting acting, despite reports to the contrary this week.
Several days ago, known shit-stirrers The Daily Mail quoted an anonymous source, saying Emma Watson was quitting acting to settle down and start a family with boyfriend Leo Robinton.
Their source claimed that her career has gone “dormant” and that she is not taking on any new projects, adding: “Emma has gone underground, she is settling down with Leo. They’re laying low.”
The star has not posted on Twitter since August of 2020, and her Instagram bio currently reads: “Emma’s official Instagram page is currently dormant and is not being updated.”
All that would certainly make it seem like Emma Watson is done with Hollywood – and honestly, good for her, she’s rich and can do what she likes – but her reps insist that’s not the case.
In a terse statement to EW, the star’s manager said: “Emma’s social media accounts are dormant but her career isn’t.”
So … there you have it?
Whatever the case, Watson has not taken on very many screen roles lately.
In the past five years, she has only appeared in three films – Beauty & The Beast and The Circle, both 2017, and Little Women, 2019.
