Remember When A Guy Got Surprise-Married At His Best Mates’ Wedding Reception & Reddit Revolted

Remember when a guy went viral for his post about ruining his friend’s wedding by also getting married in what he called a “double wedding”?

It’s bad enough when someone decides to propose at someone else’s wedding, but getting married at someone else’s wedding really takes the (wedding) cake.

Back in 2020, a chaotic evil individual called u/Wedding_Error posted a story of the most ridiculous wedding idea anyone’s ever had on Reddit. The story has since been [redacted] but it still remains rent-free in many people’s brains.

So what happened?

The mystery Reddit man decided that he wanted to have a “double wedding” which would involve surprising his best friend of 15 years by also getting married at the reception. Mind you, Reddit guy and his partner had only been dating for four months, so you already know the level of chaos we are dealing with right here.

Of course, the bride and groom were fucking pissed, saying that he ruined their wedding. Friends and family of the bride and groom were also extremely angry and the Reddit user said his phone blew up with messages from irritated friends.

“My best friend and his wife told me not to contact them ‘for a while’,” u/wedding_error said.

You can read the full story below:

My favourite line was when he said: “Kicked out of our own double wedding.”

YOUR WEDDING? Who paid for it then, sweetie?

To be honest, if the same thing happened to me I don’t know if I’d totally hate the idea of a double wedding. Imagine being known as the bride who got ambushed by a wedding at her own fricken wedding? That’s pretty cool if you ask me.

But something tells me that this story may not have happened, considering there’s no way to verify whether it is true or not. I hope it is though, because this is the type of chaotic energy I need to make me feel alive on this cold and boring Sunday night.
