A UK woman being interviewed by the BBC Wales Today has gone viral after viewers spotted a dildo sitting proudly on her bookshelf and honestly I can’t decide if this belongs in the ‘blunder’ column or the ‘power move’ column.
The owner of the glorious item, Yvette Amos, was having a yarn with the news outlet about how people were being “passed over” for jobs during the coronavirus pandemic.
She told the host that she had two jobs this time last year but she has sadly lost both due to COVID-related reasons. These included a bar job in Cardiff from which she was let go during the first lockdown. Her other job was as a researcher for Cardiff University but she was let go from there in December.
Shortly after the segment went live, it became a viral topic of conversation around the world as viewers were quick to spot the big, fuck-off dildo sitting on her top shelf.
Top-shelf stuff, that is. (Credit: BBC)
Most folks appear to be praising Yvette on Twitter and so they should, TBH. One even suggested that she receive “damehood” for displaying her toy and I don’t think that’s a bad idea, actually.

Every bookcase should house a dictionary, it’s an unwritten rule. Yvette didn’t have one…improvised with a dick

As pointed out by a bloke following the story closely, in the few hours after the interview went live (and subsequently viral), a Twitter account was created honouring its legacy, but it was sadly deleted shortly thereafter as apparently it violated Twitter’s media policy.
Damn it, Twitter. This is why we can’t have nice things.
And 2021 may have already peaked as it emerges the BBC Wales dildo has its own Twitter account @AmosDildo which has been suspended for violating Twitter’s media policy.
