Saturday Night Live‘s historic fortieth season rolls on, and despite some lukewarm responses to the shows thus far – really, part and parcel for any sketch show with a turnover of volume as high as SNL’s – the one thing they manage to keep nailing consistently is, surprisingly, the network promos for upcoming episodes.
Stripping things back to a very simplistic style, we’ve already seen the show put out a bunch of hilarious bits for the season premiere with Chris Pratt, and now they’ve doubled up the lol with another package of spruiking featuring upcoming host – and former cast member in his own right – Bill Hader.
Hader and Kenan Thompson pair up for a series of basic little skits in which the two are simply plonked in front of the camera and allowed to let loose. There’s even a really nifty What Up With That? reference.
Now, if only SNL could nail their on air material as consistently well as these promos, we’d be in some serious business.
