Sydney Pet Owners Are Terrified After A Spate Of Horrific Animal Killings

Worried pet owners in Western Sydney are calling for action and justice after a spate of horrific animal cruelty incidents have seen the murder and mutilation of cats, dogs, and even ducklings in the area in the past month.

Penrith resident Diane Newham reported last week that her 14-year-old Jack Russell, named Honey, had snuck out of the yard and only been gone an hour when her mutilated body was found in a neighbouring yard.

Newham said that a local vet had examined Honey’s body, and determined the death was not caused by another animal. “She had no puncture wounds. So the vet said it was not a possum or any sort of animal attack. He was particularly interested in her back leg, where it looked like someone had tried to cut it off.”

It has sparked fears in the area that one person is behind the attacks, with Newham claiming that mutilated ducklings (ducklings!) had recently been found near a lake by her home, and a neighbour’s cat had been tortured and killed at a similar time.

Lauren Sedaca, a resident of the same suburb Honey went missing in, has also come forward about her pet’s death, starting an online petition to draw attention to the serial killings after her cat Ginger was taken, tortured, and dumped 20kms away from home.

Sedaca’s mother claimed that when they posted on a Penrith Facebook group for lost pets, they were contacted by dozens of pet owners whose cats had also been killed.

St Mary’s Police are reportedly investigating Honey’s death. Let’s hope they catch anyone involved in any of this horrible dark business, and lock them up ASAP.
