A police dog, named PD Kane (which to me is incredibly cute and formal) put up a hell of a chase on two men after an alleged break-and-enter in Newcastle on Saturday night.
PD Kane (loool I can’t) chased the two men through bushland, after they allegedly tried to enter an 84-year-old man’s house via a window at around 11.30pm.
The men, aged 22 and 27, were eventually caught by PD Kane (!!!) and his handler, but a short time afterward poor PD Kane (aaghhh I cannot) collapsed and was rushed to a veterinary clinic for treatment.
Although PD Kane (oh god it’s still so cute but I’ll stop) was in the veterinary clinic over most of the weekend, he’s thankfully since been released and is recovering at home.
The 27-year-old man has since been charged at Newcastle Police Station with break and enter with intent, entering of enclosed lands, resisting arrest, goods in custody and possessing of house breaking implements.
The 22-year-old man has also been charged as of today.
