Paris Hilton Torches Rebrand, Says Women Accusing Trump Of Assault Are Liars

Paris Hilton seems to permanently exist in the noughties, and sometimes it’s hilarious: like when she posts throwbacks to Kim Kardashian‘s tenure as her personal assistant, seemingly just to take her down a notch or two.

Times it isn’t funny at all? When she displays the kind of victim-shamey behaviour that’s now as outdated as Von Dutch trucker hats.

The Internet is ablaze after American writer Irin Carmon shared a partial transcript of her interview with the reality star-turned-DJ for US Marie Claire, in which she straight-up accuses the 15+ women who claim they were sexually assaulted by Donald Trump are only speaking out for attention.

When asked about the public accusations of sexual assault made against the President, Hilton dismissed the women as opportunists looking for their five seconds of fame.

I think that they are just trying to get attention and fame. I feel like, a lot of people, when something happens all these opportunists will come out. They want to get money or get paid to not say anything or get a settlement when nothing really happened. So I don’t believe any of that. And I’m sure they were trying to be with him too. Because a lot of women, I’ve seen, like him because he’s wealthy and he’s charming and good-looking so I feel like a lot of these girls just made the story up. I didn’t really pay attention to it. I heard a couple things about it. I don’t believe it.

Hilton – whose family has been tight with Trump since she was a kid – went on to excuse his infamous “grab her by the pussy comments” as nothing but blokey banter which, whaddya know, is exactly how the Don himself explained away his misogynistic comments to Billy Bush.

I’ve heard guys say some pretty crazy things. Like, worse than that. So I think that when someone doesn’t realize they’re being filmed or recorded, they say things. Especially with a guy. So I think it was kind of just one of those things where you’re with someone – I’ve heard guys say the craziest things ever, because I’m always around guys, and I listen to them speak. So I definitely don’t think he would just say that.

Except he did. He literally did.

Carmon also brought up Trump’s gross admission that he found a 12-year-old Hilton – a literal child – attractive, made on the Howard Stern Show last year, and she said “it wasn’t creepy at all. He’s not like that at all, he’s always been so respectful.”

The only salvageable part of the whole, sad conversation was Hilton’s assurance that she didn’t vote for Trump in the Presidential election, because she didn’t vote at all. Wait, no, that’s still not good is it.

The entirety of Carmon’s exchange with Hilton was too long to fit in the print story which is why, she says, she felt the need to share it on Twitter (it’s since gone viral).

Here’s their conversation verbatim:

And your rebrand was going so well, sweetie.
