Oi Syd, You Just Froze Your Way Through The Coldest May Night In 2 Decades

You didn’t dream it, Sydney: last night really was a bit bloody nippy. So cold that your uncle who doesn’t believe in climate change almost surely would have said “So much for bloody global warming!”

After a stretch of very mild and warm autumn weather, Sydney hopped in the freezer last night – shivering through what meteorologists say was the coldest May night in 18 years.

Though it hit a low of about 7.1 degrees in the city, a chilly wind made it feel more like 2.5 degrees. Out in the southwest of Camden, it hit a low of -0.9 degrees Celsius, which is just not very nice at all. Australia is supposed to be a place where we all sook about it being 10 degrees. This is unconscionable.
Well, you should be fine over the next few days, regardless. Tonight will probably hit a low of 10 degrees, and the first official day of winter on Wednesday should be a balmy 18 degrees.
You’ll be right.
