NT Dog Named “Dumb Blonde” Who Barked At Crocs Dies After Being Taken By One

I have absolutely no idea how to even begin writing a story like this. Legit, I’ve sat looking at a blinking cursor for about ten minutes because how do I… where do… what… I mean…

A dog in the Northern Territory, famous for barking at crocs, has been killed after it was taken by one.

That’s the story. That’s it, right there.

The tiny dog, named “Dumb Blonde,” became famous last year after footage of it barking and nipping at a very large saltwater crocodile’s tail went viral. The dog, also named Pippa, lived on Goat Island Lodge near the croc-infested Adelaide River and had reportedly chased crocs for as long as nine years before it without incident.

Its long line of luck finally ran out a few days ago, with the dog being taken by a croc and killed.

Unbelievably, the dog’s owners uploaded footage of the incident.

So yes, the video embedded below features a dog running up to a crocodile, who then kills it and drags it into the river.

Please, for the love of god, do not watch it if that’s something you don’t feel like inflicting upon yourself right now. We cannot stress this enough.

CHRIST.

The dog’s owners are quite rightly devastated about losing their little mate in such horrific circumstances, but have assured punters that chasing crocs was not something they trained the animal to do.

The barking dog had been held back for over an hour before it approached the animal, and had reportedly already chased it back into the water once that day.

Owner Kai Hansen stated that everyone believed it would be ok as the croc had finished eating.

Normally Pippa would race down, go for the tail and the croc would just go into the river. She’s done it for nine years.

That day she had already chased her back down into the water once. This time she went very close to the head straight away which was, yeah, not very smart.

So… there’s that. RIP Dumb Blonde, the croc chasing dog.

The Northern Territory, folks. It’s a different world up there.
