Kick Off The Sheets, Tonight’s Gunna Be The Warmest Dec Night Since ‘72

Folks, we warned you yesterday that Australia was being hit with a near-nationwide heatwave. Many of you didn’t believe us, saying that top temps ranging from 34ºC – 39ºC wasn’t actually a heatwave, despite the fact the temps will be sustained over a couple of days.

Well, you’re not laughing now, are you? Are you?

It’s very possible that Sydney, Adelaide, Melbourne and Canberra will reach or exceed 33 degrees today, which will be the first time that has happened in December since 1965. 1965! That was a long time ago.
But the part this is sure to really disgust you, apart from the fact your pit sweat in the office is causing your co-workers to deeply resent you, is that the forecast overnight low of a stinking 25ºC will make tonight likely the warmest overall December night since 1972.
So please – be like this Taronga Zoo gorilla and look after yourself today (and tonight). Stay hydrated.
