Blotto Schoolies Are Being Wheeled Out Of Parties In Special ‘Drunk Chairs’

At some point there has clearly been an incredible boost in the technology emergency services and police have access to in order to deal with the unrelenting carnage that is Gold Coast Schoolies. The latest in high tech they have deployed is the ‘evacuation chair’ – a lightweight wheelchair used to remove drunk teens from party zones with ease.

Apparently its a similar model to what gets used at the Melbourne Cup to ferry around loose units who have had too much bubbly at that particularly esteemed occasion. A drunk chair, if you will.
A little something like this bad boy:
News.com.au has the scoop on the unbelievable scenes:

One young man wheeled away from street festivities in the drunk chair on Monday night clutched a sick bag and had his head held up by the evacuating paramedic […] the same female paramedic and her male team member evacuated a young woman on the chair on the same evening on Surfers Paradise.

So this is where we’re at right now with Schoolies – drunk high school kids being whizzed out of venues on light wheelchairs. Carnage.
