We cannot say that the waning moments of 2016 have not been kind to The Veronicas. They’ve done quite well – with a celebrity relationship forming between Jess Origliasso and Ruby Rose, new tunes on the way, and now a plush ARIAs hosting gig.
It’s like it’s 2004 again, except the world is in deeper crisis now. They did have something up their sleeve for the ARIAs though – for their performance, they stripped down into some kind of hellish red body glitter which was decidedly spicier than the time Molly Meldrum and Bryan Ferry got into a biff at the 1988 ARIAs.
It didn’t go super swimmingly. Look, I know I said they blitzed it. But there was a technical glitch, and they had to redo the track. “Sorry, there was a technical glitch,” Jimmy Barnes, told the audience, because that’s his career now. “The girls couldn’t hear themselves, they’re going to perform their song again.”
