The Thrift Shop From Macklemore’s Iconic Banger Is Closing Down

Well this is a wee bit sad, innit?

Cultural icon and star of ~classic~  Macklemore banger ‘Thrift Shop’, The Value Village vintage store in Seattle’s Capitol Hill neighborhood, will shortly be shutting up shop.
:'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'(
It’s been giving thrifty shoppers boners since 1996, renting the space on a “month-to-month basis”, but a spokesperson has confirmed it’ll close on November 1, right after Halloween (got to get in a few last sale$).
“Though unfortunate, certain business conditions have made it necessary to close our Value Village thrift store in the Capitol Hill neighborhood after a number of years of leasing the space on a month-to-month basis,” the shop’s rep said.

There’s been no elaboration on what those “certain business conditions” are, exactly, but it none of it matters – soon it’ll be gone and all we’ll have is this:

If the owners don’t advertise its sale price as ’99c’, it’ll be a one helluva missed opportunity TBC.

#RIPValueVillage.
