Was Macklemore and Ryan Lewis’ Thrift Shop THE best song of 2012? Yeah, we agree that’s debatable. Is it getting harder to hate on the self-aware and self-effacing duo? Most definitely.
Staunchly independent and surviving thanks to a loyal internet fan base prior to their break-out hit, the pair are certainly endearing in this Funny or Die clip which ponders the possibility of a switch to the majors. Hamming it up alongside comedian Paul Scheer, the duo balk at the Thrift Shop hobo-chic niche they find themselves in. It’s pretty funny and Shwag and Macklemore does have a ring to it. Check it out.
