#1 selling rapper and enthusiastic thrift shopper Macklemore has taken the artists vs scalpers fight one step further, prank calling a Craiglister scalping tickets for one his own sold-out Seattle shows.
Macklemore (with producer Ryan Lewis giggling beside him) adopted a weird southern gentleman/upper class Brit hybrid accent and called up to enquire about buying four tickets for the show, which were listed for double their original sale price (Nothing thrifty about that). Referring to himself as a “two-hit wonder”, and his haircut as “bloody ridiculous”, Macklemore takes the piss out of himself and the scalper, who, judging by the amount of time she stays on the phone with the ridiculous character Macklemore created, must’ve be pretty desperate to offload the tickets.
It’s remains pretty light-hearted, even when Mack comes clean at the end of the call, but the message is loud and clear: “F**k scalpers!! Buy Tickets At macklemore.com“
