Not Listening To Drake Key To Wimbledon Victory For Nick Kyrgios

Nick Kyrgios – Australia’s greatest hope for a day off with a Prime Ministerial seal of approval since the 1983 Americas Cup – has a lot of people he’ll need to thank now that he’s trounced world number one Rafael Nadal to secure a spot in the Wimbledon quarter-finals.
You, foremost, for staying up until 4:00am to watch; his positively delightful parents for their unwavering support and unconditional love, and maybe his coach John Morris and professional development team if they’re lucky, in that order.
One person he will not be thanking is Drake, a sad Canadian troubadour to whom he has inadvertently attributed a brief period of lacklustre performance at the outset of his four set match against Czechoslovakia’s Jirí Veselý on the weekend past, the first set of which he lost on account of the music he listened to before stepping out onto the court.
Speaking after the fact, Kyrgios noted that he “came out really flat” because of what he was listening to, “so hopefully I won’t listen to that again! It was actually Drake. [Drake] didn’t do the job for me.”

Kyrgios, a certified legend whatever the outcome, will tomorrow face off against another sad Canadian, Milos Raonic, in the quarter finals. ‘
He will, no doubt:
