Your Boy Nick Kyrgios Is Australia’s Most Marketable Athlete


It’s likely many more brands will soon be chasing after the young star, as figures from the sports market research company Repucom indicate that he is Australia’s most appealing athlete right now, in terms of his theoretical ability to sell you stuff.
Kyrgios finds himself ahead of more established stars like Samantha Stosur, Gary Ablett and Michael Clarke, and significantly, leads the pack in the category of “trendsetter.”
Like everyone from Nicki Minaj to the kid in Jurassic World, the young Aussie has been sucked into the Beats By Dre vortex, and his commercial for the brand debuted last week.
It has already racked up 1.4 million views in the space of about four days, suggesting that there might really be something to this whole ‘Nick Kygios sells stuff to people’ racket:
Kyrgios, currently ranked 26 in the world, meet Argentinian player Diego Schwartzman in the opening round of Wimbledon this week.
