Miley Cyrus To Host This Year’s MTV VMAs, Not Allowed To Perform

We’ve created a monster, cause nobody wants ta see Hannah no more they want Miley, she’s chopped liver  They tried to shut her down on MTV but it feels so empty without Miley

Regular courter of VMAs controversy Miley Cyrus has just announced via Twitter that she’ll be hosting this year’s awards, despite – or in all honestly, probably because of – being banned from performing by MTV.

Considering Miley’s modus operandi is getting in front of a camera and/or mic and doing whatever the fuck she wants, MTV have basically just thrown a live grenade into their show. Results may vary.

It’s the first time the awards show has been hosted since 2013. By a happy coincidence, 2013 is ~also~ the year Miley twerked all over Robin Thicke, thus allowing us to gift unto you a rewatching of this GIF:

If you look closely, you can actually see the moment Robin Thicke’s career and marriage started the downward descent that would see it careening off a cliff in 2014:

MTV confirmed the news via Twitter, and promised nominations would be out real soon.

The VMAs will air live from L.A’s Microsoft Theatre on Monday August 31. Aussies really have about two options: fork out for a Foxtel subscription, or keep an eye peeled out for Miley to start trending on Twitter.

Past VMA hosts have included Kevin Hart, Chelsea Handler and Russell Brand, but we bet not one of ’em ever twerked to a seven foot high Pedobear.
