Hold your horses, folks: ARIA has just announced that whole hunk of man, Keith Urban, will be coming back to the land of Oz in November to host this year’s ARIA Awards. Yeehaw.
Our very own honorary Aussie (AKA. NZ human) recently spoke about his upcoming hosting gig. “I’m really looking forward to coming home and celebrating an incredible year of Australian music,” he said.
“There’s been so many impressive releases this year. It’s gonna be a tough competition but we get to recognise and honour the best of the best at Aussie music’s night of nights.”
Urban last graced us with his presence over a decade ago when he jumped onstage with John Butler back in ’07. He has definitely paid his dues in the meantime, having won 5 ARIA Awards himself. Onya Keithy.
So, will Nicole Kidman be joining? “I’ll bring Nic. Definitely. I’ll get her to play a solo.”
We’re praying that we can witness something as iconic as Nic’s clapping scenario.
The 32nd Annual ARIA Awards will take place in Sydney on Wednesday 28th November, and broadcast on Channel 9. Check out a little spiel below by the man himself, and prepare to swoon over his country finesse. Don’t say we didn’t warn you.
