Amy Shark, Courtney Barnett & More To Perform At This Year’s ARIA Awards

The list of Aussie performers taking to the ARIA Awards stage at the end of this month has dropped, and there’s definitely a little sumfin’, sumfin’ there for everyone.

We’ve got Amy Shark, Courtney Barnett, Dean Lewis, Keith Urban and Kasey Chambers joining the already announced youngbloods 5 Seconds of Summer. We also already knew that queen Rita Ora is our first international performer.

Country singer Urban is also our host for the night, while Chambers, up for Best Country Album, is being inducted to the ARIA Hall of Fame, after winning a whoppin’ 12 ARIAs over 1999.

Shark is up for nine ARIAs this year, including for Album of the Year, Best Female Artist and Best Pop Release. Barnett is up for nine nods, coming up against Shark for Album of the Year and Best Female Artist, and she looks pretty likely to take out Best Rock Album. Here’s hoping she drops ‘Nameless, Faceless‘. Lewis is up for five awards, including Best Male Artist and Best Pop Release.

It’s a pretty neat little explainer of what’s been going on over the past year in the Aussie music industry – you’ll get a taste of every genre and performers young and old, seasoned professionals and up-and-comers pushing boundaries.

And it’s really cool to see so many powerful women on the bill, totally showing up all the blokes. If you wanted to show your mum what your fave, Amy/Dean/Courtney sounds like, this is the easy way – and then you can bring her along to their next live show!

The ARIA Awards are on November 28 at The Star in Sydney. You can watch all the performances from your couch on Channel Nine.
