Gotye Reveals His Album Of The Year

Pedestrian caught up with the Grammy nominated Melbourne artist to discuss his complicated relationship status (with “Somebody That I Used To Know”), meme spirals, 2012 highlights and his plans for the future. That interview will be published in full tomorrow but for now we’ll leave you with the Record of the Year nominated artist’s thoughts on his (and a lot of other people’s) album of the year: Channel Orange by Frank Ocean

“Frank Ocean’s record really hit home for me,” Gotye explains. “It took a little while but the track “Lost” grabbed me immediately because of its arrangement. It’s so beautifully recorded and it’s one of the more straight up pop moments on the record.”

“At first I felt a little adrift in some of the skits and connections between songs. I didn’t really get into the flow of the album but I’ve slowly discovered more and more tracks that I really lose myself in, and I’ve been blown away by the inventiveness of the arrangements and how great Frank Ocean’s voice is. So yeah, it speaks to me as a record and it’s a lovely exploration of sound and a wonderfully varied piece of pop music.”

Co-signed. Look out for the full interview tomorrow…
