Spotify Users Predict Gotye Will Win The Record of The Year Grammy

Gotye fans rejoice for the crooner’s chart-topper ‘Somebody That I Used to Know’ is a favourite to win two Grammy awards – according to the sage predictions of Spotify.com users.
 
The digital music service has released streaming data relating to the amount of listens racked up by Spotify users, effectively predicting which tracks and artists could take home gold at the Gammys if listenability was the only award criteria. The data predicts Gotye wins in both the coveted Record of the Year and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance categories – two of the three awards that he is actually nominated for alongside Best Alternative Music Album for Making Mirrors.
 
Carly Rae Jepson earworm ‘Call Me Maybe’ will supposedly snag Best Pop Solo Performance while Mumford & Sons’ folk masterpiece ‘Babel’ is the favourite to take out the Album of the Year title at the awards show, taking place on February 11th.
