‘Glee’ Star Cory Monteith Found Dead In Vancouver at 31

Cory Monteith, 31, who played star quarterback and loveable tenor Finn Hudson on popular TV musical comedy Glee, has been found dead in a Vancouver hotel room, according to police in British Columbia.

Acting Chief Doug LePard revealed that police received a call after midday alerting them to “a sudden death” that had occured in a hotel room on the 21st floor of the Fairmont Pacific Rim in downtown Vancouver. They arrived on the scene soon after to be advised by paramedics that Monteith was “clearly deceased.”
It’s understood there were others in Monteith’s hotel room the night before he died, however video surveillance indicates he returned alone to his room in the early hours of the morning. After Monteith failed to check out later that day, hotel staff went to his room where they found his body.
Earlier this year, Monteith voluntarily admitted himself to rehab to seek treatment for addiction and substance abuse, a recurring problem developed in his early teens and one he had sought treatment for again at age nineteen.
An autopsy is scheduled for Monday to determine the cause of death. There is no indication of foul play.
More to come.
