The Sydney Dance Company Is Running Virtual Dance Classes So You Can Sweat In Your Sweats

Sydney Dance Company

If you’re in dire need of a mood booster / living room boogie, the fabulous people at the Sydney Dance Company have announced a slew of virtual classes.

Styles include [inhales deeply] ballet beginner, ballet intermediate, open body conditioning classes, contemporary beginner, contemporary intermediate, hip hop beginner, jazz beginner, an open Latin funk workout which sounds divine, tap beginner, and open strength and conditioning classes. Not to mention, every Friday there’s a Feel Good session open to all interested.

So how does it work? Well, you can buy a single ticket or become a member. Virtual single tickets will set you back $12 a class and a membership is $28 a week (billed monthly). And you don’t have to worry about a joining fee because there isn’t one. If you’re not sure you can commit to a membership, but want more than one class, you can give the 5 FlexiPack or 10 FlexiPack options a go for $50 and $90, respectively.

You can book classes online via the Sydney Dance Company app, available on iOS and Android. Once you’ve done that, you should receive a confirmation email with all the details on what you need and how to set up for your virtual dance class.

The classes run on Zoom, which if you don’t already have, you can download right here. Twenty minutes before your class starts, you’ll receive an email with the start time. Consider it a little nudgey-nudge to make sure you’re all ready to go. It’s also completely up to you if you want to have your video link switched on or not. So you can literally dance like nobody’s watching.
