Tom Hanks has delivered his final line as the iconic and beloved children’s character Woody, for Toy Story 4.
Pause for intense sobbing.
Taking to his Instagram, the dear actor shared a picture from his “final session as Woody”.
“Final line, final session as Woody of Toy Story 4,” Hanks captioned his post. “We rode like the wind, to infinity and beyond. Hanx”
I am sad, happy-sad, and aggressively sad all at once.
“When I realised what they [creative team] were going for [the film’s ending] I realised, ‘Oh, this is a moment in history’”.
To make matters worse, Tim Allen – who voices Buzz Lightyear – told The Talk that he struggled to make it through the last scene of the film.
“It is so emotional, it’s so funny, it’s so big the idea of what they’ve come up with. I’m startled. [Toy Story 3] was, I thought, amazing. This, I couldn’t even get through the last scene. A couple of the scenes toward the end were really hard to get through,” he said.
In Toy Story 4, we’ll be introduced to a reluctant new toy – Forky, who is indeed a fork. Forky’s arrival sparks a road trip with old and new friends, revealing just how big the world can be for a toy.
FUN FACT: John Wick‘s Keanu Reeves recently confirmed he had joined the cast of Toy Story 4. There’s been no official confirmation as to who exactly Reeves will voice but sources tell Observer that he is playing a character named Duke Kaboom. This toy comes from a place where discontinued toys go… which is a bit moody… perfect for Keanu Reeves.
Speaking to Collider in December, Reeves said he joined the cast after he received a call from the people upstairs.
“I got a call which was really cool out the blue from the lovely people at Pixar and the creators of this number, this edition, or continuation of the story. They pitched the character to me and then we spoke and they allowed me to kind of riff on it.”
Toy Story 4 will fly into cinemas, June 2019.
