I feel like it’s been a while since we had a good old fashioned ‘Tom Hanks seems like a real nice fella’ story. Sure, we’re always cognisant of the fact that Tom Hanks appears to be, by all accounts, a real swell guy, but it’s nice to be reminded every now and then.
This will do: on Friday, Hanks strolled into an In-N-Out Burger joint in Fontana, California, and proceeded to buy lunch for everyone, including the customers waiting the drive thru.
In a way, isn’t life just the time we spend waiting around in fast food joints for Tom Hanks to stroll in and buy us a burger? Such is the burden of mankind.
“Tom signed In-N-Out hats and took pictures with everyone,” one of the people present told E! News. “He was genuinely nice, laughing, talking with everyone and taking selfies. He wished us a Merry Christmas on his way out.”

Hanks, who was absent from our screens throughout 2018, is set to appear in Toy Story 4, Greyhound and You Are My Friend in 2019.
