WATCH: Comedy Central’s 1st All-Aussie Show Drops A Spicy Meatball Trailer

It’s a pretty sweet time to be a fan of funny things in Australia right now. US comedy behemoth Comedy Central launched its local presence earlier in the year with a fancy-shmancy lookin’ website and social channels.

But far beyond being a .au extension for its US parent, the ‘Strayan arm is moving ahead and commissioning new, original series featuring up-and-coming homegrown talent.
The very first all-Australian Comedy Central series is about to launch this coming Friday, and the channel has given your gr8 m8s here at PEDESTRIAN.TV an exclusive first look at the trailer.
Trendy” from Melbourne-based sketch dynamos Aunty Donna is a five-episode web series that will go online, for free, this coming Friday. A new instalment will follow on a weekly basis.
The series takes the Donna boys out of the anchored office-setting that their recently completed 1999 series put them in, and gives them a bit more range to be silly by simply focusing on all which is quote/unquote “trendy” in the ole’ modern world.

The network has already commission more new Australian shows from a bunch of other local talent, with news about the next cab off the rank reportedly scheduled to arrive “very soon.”
You’ll be able to get heavily involved with Trendy from this Friday, with episodes to be available on ComedyCentral.com.au.
