‘The Last Jedi’ Director Says If You Want 0 Spoilers, Skip The Next Trailer

Trailers for world-crushing blockbusters have become events in and of themselves. Think about how many trailers you’ve seen recently that have three second mini-trailers before them (peep today’s new Justice League clip for an example), and contemplate just how many times trailers explain the whole movie anyway (you can look at DC stablemate Suicide Squad for that one).

All of this is to say we’re getting a hell of a lot of content before even catching the films, and Star Wars: Episode VIII director Rian Johnson has just gone on the record advising fans to avoid tomorrow’s trailer if they want a totally fresh viewing experience on December 15.

In response to a fan who asked Johnson if the trailer would be chock-a-block full of spoilers – again, an all-too-common occurrence – Johnson said he’s “legitimately torn” about the promotional clip.
