Rebel Wilson, best known for her role in those ads for Telstra that screened during Australian Idol as the tequila-worm-tattooed Brynn opposite Kristen Wiig in Bridesmaids, is teaming up with Conan O’Brien to co-produce, write and star in the pilot episode of ‘Super Fun Night‘, a multi-camera sitcom recently given the green light from CBS, Warner Bros Television and O’Brien’s Conaco.
Wilson will star as one of three predictably socially inept gal pals who challenge themselves to have a super fun night every Friday night – which, let’s face it, is a near impossible feat. Inevitable comparisons have already been made with Bridesmaids, The Hangover and The Big Bang Theory, with an expected dose of Bogan Pride (which Wilson wrote, produced and starred in) for good measure. If Wilson continues on the same trajectory of similarly comedically inclined breakout Judd Apatow alumni Jonah Hill she might just get that Oscar Nomination she hallucinated about in a malaria-induced state. Now that sounds like a super fun night.
